Paul Chin – designer to some, producer to others, friend to all – is a Toronto-based artist, originally from the Cayman Islands. Equal parts borne of the influence of J Dilla and school band; DC Comics and art school, Paul came up on a steady diet of hip-hop grooves, Saturday morning cartoons, sheet music for hymns, and Futura. His “EDM equivalent of folk music” sound has developed as a product of vulnerable storytelling through his music, combined with intricate attention to detail, and a love of polyrhythms. A dedicated loyalist and champion of “Culturecraft”, Paul wants nothing more than to travel the world to DJ, and collect vinyl and adidas sneakers.
